Excellent video! Up here at Y&S FOOD! we really like to detect such type of contents. We make Travel & Food video as well, across the globe, and so we are constantly searching for inspirations as well as concepts. Thank You.
I decided to get 50f2 instead of the 56f1.2 for weight and size and i love it. U should try it out too. How is ur experience with the manual focus lens during travel? I think my family would not wait for me to manually focus on stuff and take a picture so still deciding on getting those manual lens
My vacation kit is the X-T2 + 16-55mm f/2.8 + 35mm f/1.4. A versatile zoom as my main lens for the trip and if the weather gets a bit sketchy, and the prime for when I just want to go ultra light for the day.
My vacation kit: new Domke 5XB bag, Canon M50, 11-22mm zoom (18-35mm equiv.), 50mm f1.8 (80mm equiv.), 3 batteries, charger, memory cards. Good to go!
I wish about this…
whats about the XF 18-135?
Maybe the travel kit with XF 23mm 1.6f and XF 18-135 have a big range an you don´t have to carry so much.
Thanks for the nice and funny vids.
Thoughts on the 90mm as a walkaround lens?
I have wanted a xt20 for the longest and loved your channel and you definitely motivated me to get the camera. I am 3 days in with it now but have a question on your import workflow with it. I use LR and learned quickly that .raf files are not recognized. Would love to know how you deal with this? Iridescent – dng converter, etc? Thank you in advance.
I have a Nikon D500 and a XT20. Have been to Costa Rica and would definitely recommend a fast weather sealed DSLR with some long lenses. Incredible wildlife
Enjoy your vacation Omar. I shoot XE-3 with 23 f2 for my street and travel stuff. We should get together sometime and brag for about our cameras ( read compare…lol). Safe trips sir 🙂
The 10-24mm makes for a wonderful travel lens – sharp and covers a wide range 😎
I don’t have many lens, changing lens while I’m traveling drives my wife crazy. Do you carry all those lenses and change throughout the day? I use the pro2 with the 35 1.4, and I used to use the Rokinon 12 (Fantastic lens, but too wide to walk around with).
16 is a waste when you carry 12 and 18-55 plus it weights same as 56 (or even a bit more) so as you already mention this type of lenses are too heavy to mount on T20/10 for vacations
Hi Omar. Just wanted you to know that I look forward to your videos for the entertainment value as well as the education. I’m not super into canon gear, but that doesn’t mean a canon video is “ time I can’t get back.”I have friends who are canon users who can use the info. Nor is this vacation kit video a waste, if not solely to see you in the Beloch hat! If you are looking for something on the Xt 20 though, even though they’re goofy, you could look at the advanced filters. Maybe they’re actually useful? I look forward to seeing your take.
Hi,
If you come to Europe, Come and see me in South Spain.
I started to pull away from Sony more over time, toward Fuji, because I left video work to wanting to focus on personal photos.
It has been a pretty good choice so far.
I have struggled with colours a lot though. I learned that with DR400% it bleeds a little magenta tint.
But the in camera raw conversion is so useful, that you can correct it and export jpegs.
You are one goofy SOB, but I’m loving every minute. Great job!
Is the xt30 coming out this year or the next?
And here’s me trying to survive with one lens when I travel… :O
Hey, Omar, have you ever tried the 16-50? I have both that and the 18-55, but I prefer the 16-50 for travel. It’s so light, small, and sharp with excellent ois.
Hey Omar. What about the 18-135mm as travel lens?? What is your thoughts?
Are you ever concerned with the optech clips coming loose?
Hi Omar. You describe everything in your video with a fun way. Liked it :)). Anyway, I always bring my 18-55 f2.8 when travelling, but I can say I don’t really like the colour instead of 35mm f2. So, which lens that you mostly use when travelled? Kit lens, or pancake?
Thanks Omar. Depends where you are going. I’m going to a national park trip next week, and for that I think I will need: 1) Standard zoom 18-55 because it’s a lens I would never leave behind on a trip, 2) 55-200mm telephoto lens for zoom-ed in landscape and wildlife shots, 3) 14mm rokinon wide angle for astro photography. The other two lenses in my bag, 4) the 35mm f2 and a 5) 85mm equivalent nikon portrait lens are the ones I may leave behind, but they add little weight… so might as well take everything with me!
man, you simply need to put your hands on that 16mm lens. You don’t even know what you’ve been missing until you try it. My travel gear is the 16mm, 35mm f2, 18-55mm
Great vid and selection of lenses. No offend but I think one of this bad boy would make your camera look even better imho. I got one for my silver one and loveing it.

my travel kit i just went to Prague with was the xpro 2 with the 23 f2, 27 f2.8, 35 f1.4 and 50 f2 and fit it inside the peak design 5L bag. still havent seen any fellow fuji users lol just nikon and canon all in one zooms and a few dslrs
Thank you for the idea of using old camcorder bag. I have several of them 😁 Personally, I would never ever again took DSLR on a trip with me, or better to say I would need a damn good reason to do so. If you are worried about the weather, get XT2 or X-pro2. Hell, even the XT1 is weather sealed, and today that camera costs a fraction of what it had cost back in the day. Moreover, nobody talks about Fuji’s 18-135mm, and that superzoom lens (that I own) is the ultimate trawler lens. Not for a professionals maybe (IQ is not on pair to Fuji’s primes) but for usual (tourist) user in hot /sunny country is all they will need. During the daylight at least. And that lens is weather sealed too 😉 And last but not the least Rokinon’s 12mm and Fuji’s 16mm might sound similar on the paper but they are different beasts all together. I do have 16/1,4 but it’s not wide enough for me sometimes (coming from Canon’s 14 and 17-40mm), so I want to add 12mm to my kit…
yeh so traveling light then …. take all the gear. nailed it 🙂
Omar, I have a Helios 44-M 4 manual/vintage lens for my FujiFilm X-T20. What camera settings do you recommend using? And will it be a challenge since both the lens and camera body does not have any kind of image stabilization? Keep up the fantastic work!
Hi Omar. I just got back from a family trip to Costa Rica. Took my Fuji XT-20 and my 3 lenses (18-55, 55-200, and 50 2.0). Brought a travel flash as well. Travel flash and 50 2.0 never left my bag. Spent trip switching up and back between the 18-55 and 55-200. The longer zoom was crucial for wildlife photography (and was, at times, dwarfed by the "paparazzi" lenses around me Will you be bringing a telephoto lens on your trip?
On vacation right now with the xt-20 and 27mm pancake. So good. So sharp. Can’t believe how great it has been.
hey omar! After weeks and months agonizing over my next camera move, i was about to pull the trigger as they say on a x-t20-based partially on your recommendation. But when I went to the shop and put the 27mm (i think it was) on the body, I saw vignetting on all the corners on the screen, viewfinder and file. I should have, but didn’t try any other lenses. Is this a thing? I had to hold off and my feeling swung back to the x100f. I have the t right now.
Omar, Watched a ton of your videos was sold on moving to Fuji… Then read up on the X-Trans RAW issues. Can you talk about this a little?
I ordered the Rokinon 12mm F/2 for Fuji X based on your review of this lens. Interesting that the Sony and Fuji versions have a 67mm filter thread for this lens and the Nikon and Canon versions don’t. I two or three days I will be testing this lens.
I’ve heard that those "cheapo" batteries (np-w126) could easily went overheat especialy when shooting vid😭 how do you feel? btw you are hilarious😁
Another awesome vid Omar. Nearly spit our tea with your modeling and the canon "lens cap" joke. Keep em coming! and yeah love you too bro
Going to Italy in a few weeks. Setup is X-T2, 27mm, 35mm f2 & 10-24. I’m not a big zoom person. Just picked up used X-E1 as emergency backup plan/insurance.
which lens is best to use for beginners who focuses on videos rather than pictures?
Hi Omar, I’m from CR, hope you enjoy your time here, Pura Vida!!…
i think your concave and convex are reversed but great video still.. 🙂
All you need to say now is that you only shoot jpegs…;-)
His name was Belock in Indy.
Like the ref to camcorder bag. I found use for soft sided tool box from Home Depot with mesh side pockets, I look like a plumber doing housecall. Also like now Fedora Gonzalez Nation, hope you get some Santa Maria Guadalupe pics while here in DC.
¡let’s get the XT2 man! Or H1 Love your video man (btw)
Cool travel kit! I like that you use your old bag, there is no need for a new one if the old one still works! In the future I think the XF10-24 + XF16-80 plus a fast prime for the nights could be a great travel option!
This video does a good job showing how the X-T20 can really be any camera that you want it to be. Pro camera with massive bokeh lens? Check! Low profile street shooter? Check! Photo/video hybrid? Check!
Omar, can you make a video on shooting video and stills on the XT20? I find I’m always frantically switching dials and changing settings when going back and for between video and stills, so many little things to change all the time. I can’t help thinking there must be a more efficient way of doing it, have you got it dialled? (Excuse the pun!) I’m on IG @samsstreets by the way if you wanna check out my images 😉😂
Why don’t you put the rear lens cap on your lens? wouldn’t it be too susceptible to damage to the rear glass ?
Hey Omar what external flash are you taking the tt 350 ? or another flash?
Love the hat! 😂😂
