I take it you’ve now moved onto The Mavic pro or Air ✈️👍

Nice video. I was able to travel with my monopod. I recently switched to a very light compact tripod/monopod that I hope will reduce the footprint at boarding.

I travel to Bangkok often. When connecting through some parts of China and Korea they will make you check your tripod before you make it to the boarding area. They actually put it in a box for me and it came off the plane with my luggage. I asked why I was not allowed to bring it on board and the said that actually they don’t even let them inside the terminal because it can be used as a weapon. Especially tripods with spikes. They took mine as I was coming through customs and getting screened a second time inside the airport.

Thanks for the tips. Sometimes I wonder if I can carry-on the tripod because the feet has spikes and can be considered a weapon? Last time I just placed it in my check-in luggage.

Maybe a bamboo tripod would avoid it being checked!

Yeah I can definitely relate to that. I had the painful experience of checking in my camera with my lens attached! Stupid mistake, the lens came out broken, even when it was in a proper camera bag! Always bring your camera gear in your carry-on!
