The results were announced on June 18, 2019, at the Paris Air Show at the World Airline Awards at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace du Bourget. To receive their 2019 Awards, airline leaders and top airline management from around the globe visited the ceremony. For the annual worldwide customer satisfaction survey by Skytrax, clients nominate an airline and rate their satisfaction (scale from 1 to5) in classifications including flight service (such as staff behavior, boarding aid and assistance of meal service); land and airport experience (such as check-in, pre-boarding processes, and airport employees); onboard experience (such as cabin comfort, seat comfort and facilities, and quality food). In the initial results, more than 300 airlines were included, and 21.65 million qualified survey entries were recorded.

According to the consumer-aviation website Skytrax, Qatar Airways has been named the best airline in the world for 2019. Qatar airline moved up one place from the 2018 list, ranking second behind Singapore Airlines, which ranked second on the list of this year (2019). The website rated airlines based on more than 21 million airline passenger survey responses. US-based companies did not make the list of the top 20 airlines in the world.
